Guardian Angel poem for a BABY
Sleep little baby
Long into the night.
I'm your guardian angel,
Just keep me in sight.
I'll guard you 'til the morning,
'Til you're up for the day.
Hang me over your crib
And there I will stay.
And when you grow up
And move from your home,
Please take me along,
Don't leave me alone.
Hang me over your bed
And when the time comes,
Hang me over the crib
Of you own little one.

Angel Seeds
Put some white tic tacs or some of those silver cake decorating balls
into a baggie or small bottle and attach one of the following poems or
make up one of your own.

God created angel seeds
To let us know He cares.

Prescription: Take one seed per day
And swallow it with prayer.

or

Angel seeds are delicate
So plant them in a spot just right
Do it with a little prayer
And love them day and night
So when you are in special need
Of the Angel's love and care
Look into your heart to see
Your Angel living there.

~~ ANGELS ~~
~Seek an angel with an open heart and you will find one.
~The way you know an angel, is by your feelings.
~Angels may not always come when you call them, but they
always come when you need them.
~An angel is someone who helps you believe in miracles again.
~Sometimes you know angels only by the miracles they have
blossoming in their paths after they have gone.
~An angel is someone you're always happy to bump into.
~An angel is someone who raises your spirits.
~An angel is someone you feel you've known forever even
though you've just met.
~An angel is someone who helps you grow.
~Angels make you feel welcome in this world.
~Angels encourage your best qualities and hidden talents.
~Angels give you those gentle pats on the back you sometimes
need to keep going.
~Angels give you direction.
~Angels gently push you out of your little self and into the broad
arena of love.
~Angels remind you that you are enough.

TINY ANGEL
I am a tiny Angel I'm smaller than your thumb:
I live in people's pockets That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me, I'm too tiny to detect:
Though I'm with you all the time, I doubt we've ever met.

 Before I was an Angel...
 I was a fairy in a flower:
 God, Himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.

 Now God has many Angels
That He trains in Angel pools:
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do;
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you.

When He tucked me in your Pocket
He blessed you with Angel care;
Then told me to never leave you,
And I vowed always to be there.

Angels - quotes, sayings and poems

Angel On Duty

Some say that angels have no wings.
I know that this is true.
For when I opened your baby blanket,
there were no wings on you.

My heroes come with wings, not capes.

Smiles are the next best thing to halos.

Guardian Angel, Oh So Dear, Protect And Hold My Family Near

There are Angels Everywhere

An Angel's Heart Is Filled With Love

Miracles Happen To Those That Believe

There are two things we can give our children -
One is roots and the other is wings.

Listening Hearts Hear Angels Sing

"Angels are inseparable friends, who bring strength and
consolation to those who include them in their lives. In
truth, angels are our best friends."
-Janice T. Connell, from "Angel Power"

Angels are students in Heaven and teachers on Earth.

"To love for the sake of being loved is human, but to love
for the sake of loving is angelic."
-Alphonse De Lamartine

Angels sent from up above,
Please protect the ones we love.

Mothers are Angels in disguise
(can also substitute with baby, children,
grandmothers, etc.)

When in doubt - Wing It!

An angel's love is weightless.

Angels are bright lights in the midst of our lives.

"Spring bursts today, For Christ is risen and all the earth's at play.
.
Sing, creatures, sing, Angels and men and birds, and everything"
-Christina G. Rossetti

An angel can fly directly into the heart of the matter.

An angel is someone you feel like you've known forever,
even though you've just met.

-------------------------------------------------------
My Guardian Angel

Dear Angel ever at my side,
how lovely you must be---
To leave your home in heaven,
to guard a child like me.
When I'm far away from home,
or maybe hard at play--
I know you will protect me,
from harm along the way.
Your beautiful and shining face,
I see not, though you're near.
The sweetness of your lovely voice,
I cannot really hear.
When I pray, you're praying too,
Your prayer is just for me.
But ,when I sleep you never do,
You're watching over me. --  psalm 91:11-12

Angel Stars
I'm told they are angels twinkling
Those blinking stars up above
There seems so many of them
There must be plenty of love

Angels are a glowing source
of loving care and attention
up there offering to God
prayers for our intervention

We also ask them for guidance
to lead us through each day
they are the servants of God
All we have to do is pray

~ Angel Cream ~
Add some glittery eyeshadow all crunched
up to a small amount of hand cream. Add
to a small jar and decorate. Add poem.
Rub a small amount on the back of a child's
hand before going to bed to attract angels
to watch over them in the night.

One way to make a gift is to buy hand cream,
and then put extra fine glitter in it. Use small
containers like film containers or empty makeup
containers.  The film containers can be wrapped
in wallpaper or gift wrap. Then decorate the tops
with baby's breath and small roses.

Another idea is to make one similar to a shaker
angel. Take a spice bottle and fill with the cream
and glitter. Then glue a wooden ball on the lid
and give it hair and put a bow at the neck for an angel.

Attach a card with a picture of an angel and the
following verse:

Night is here, and it's time to go to bed.
But before you lay down your sleepy head
On the back of your hand rub some Angel Cream
So angels will watch over you as you dream.

Make a cinnamon stick angel!
3 - 3" cinnamon sticks
7/8" or 1" wooden ball
2 bay leaves
Spanish moss
18 gauge wire
16" long scrap material
Scrap material - 2 ¼" x 10" (torn for rustic look)
Scrap material - ¼" x 12" (also torn for rustic look)

1. Hot glue 2 cinnamon sticks together to form an upside down 'V'. These are the legs.
2. Run a basting stitch along one edge of the larger piece of material. Pull the thread together. This is the dress.
3. Pull dress over legs and glue close to the top.
4. Glue the other cinnamon stick across the top of the legs. This becomes the arms.
5. Glue the head to the center of the arms.
6. Add Spanish moss for hair.
7. Add dip dot eyes and blush.
8. Tie the other piece of fabric into a bow and glue on to the arms just below the head.
9. Wrap the wire around a pencil. Remove and glue each end into the end of the arm piece.
10.Add the 2 basil leaves to the back. These are the wings.

Office Angel poem
I am a office angel and I've been sent today
To watch over you and help you
thru until your on your way
I'll help you thru computer glitches
and even help with office witches
I'll watch your desk when you need
a break and even help with mistakes
you make
So sit me on your desk to remind you
Someone sent me here to Bless You!

Pasta Angel

For one Angel, you will need--
Pasta noodles: 1 rigatoni (body)
1 wagon wheel (neck)
1 aneli (small, ring-shaped noodle for ribbon loop)
1 bowtie (wings)
2 small macaroni (arms)
Small amount acini de pepe (very small, spherical-shaped noodles for hair)
Round plastic bead (head)
Ivory-colored acrylic spray paint
Red satin ribbon 1/8 " wide, 5 inches
Small plastic holly leaf with berry
Tacky craft glue
optional-tweezers (for gluing the hair noodles)
Make the angel-- Glue the wagon wheel noodle to one end of the rigatoni noodle. Glue plastic bead on top of wagonwheel noodle. Let dry. For hair, spread a layer of glue over top, sides and back of head. Dip the head into acini de pepe noodles, or place them on with the tweezers. To make a hanger, glue anelli noodle to top center of head. For arms, glue one macaroni noodles to each side of rigatoni. Allow to dry. For wings, glue center of bowtie noodle to the back of the rigatoni noodle. Let this dry overnight. Finishing: Spray entire angel with two coats of ivory,  allowing to dry between coats. (It was also suggested to paint her gold ) Glue holly along inside curve of one arm. For hanging, insert ribbon through the loop, tie ends together in a knot to form a loop.

Here is my pasta angel I made along time ago...had to go dig it out of the craft garage from you know where LOL Enjoy

Thanks Tennia!

I made this angel with ribbon, lace and small wood bead  then added a tiny bow. The other one I don't know what you call that straw like stuff I used I got some in a bag at a yardsale and was just fiddlin one night and did that hehe

For ribbon Angel: All I did was took some regular ribbon and cut off how long I wanted it to be...glued some lace on both ends of the ribbon...then I folded it into a fan shape or some would call it accordian shape then folded it in half.....I did another one but instead of folding it in half I pinched it in the middle to shape the wings I tied the wing and the body together. Then I glued a tiny wood bead on for the head and a small chenille stem for the halo was just made into a circle I like the looks of using the glittery chenille stems or you can use them little gold rings you see used on rice bags for weddings...then some ribbon for embellishments and that's it...very quick, easy and my favorite word "Cheap" to make...I
sell them for .75 each or 2/1.00 at craft shows.
Thanks Tennia!

Angel Ornament
Here's a small and cute Angel ornament. Also easy to make! You need: Hot glue gun Silk flower Small wooden bead Small pearl string Piece of ribbon (gauzy kind with gold or silver edging is pretty) Doll's ringlet hair, small curl
Decorative cord for hanging Black and red markers (optional) Method: Remove stalk from flower, and hot glue back of flower to keep petals from falling off.  Turn flower upside down.  This is the dress and body of the  angel.  Hot glue wooden bead for head to base of flower.  Place decorative cord around the neck, securing at the back and tying a loop for hanging on tree. (The cord around the neck looks like a necklace and hides the hot glue join.)  Fold ribbon into bow shape and hot glue to back for wings.  Cut 4 lengths of ringlets for hair, securing into place with hot glue.  I usually cut 2" lengths, securing center of each length at the top of head, with a dab of glue at sides to keep hair in place.  Go very easy on the glue.  (Doll's hair can get plastered with it!!!). Cut length of pearl string (about 7 pearls) and glue to a circle.  Place on top of head with the tiniest dabs of glue.  (Easier to glue the pearls than the hair.)  I often use a round toothpick to transfer glue from the glue gun to whatever I'm gluing.  I have more control on the amount of glue I use that way. Use markers to paint closed eyes with lashes and rosebud mouth.

Clothespin Angel
Need: wood clothespin paintbrush acrylic paints-tan,blue,red craft glue 2" wide white ribbon 3" long 3" wide white ribbon 6"long 1 skein brown embroidery floss 6" paper doily Painting: Paint clothespin tan,let dry. Paint facial features on "head" of clothespin. Assembling: Glue 2" wide ribbon around clothespin just below head for bodice. Fold pleats on 1 edge of 3" wide ribbon and glue around clothespinfor skirt. Twist center of floss skein, glue to head for hair, trim. Cut doily in quarters for wings. Use only 2 of the quarters for one angel. Pleat pointed ends of the 2 wings and glue to back of angel body.

Angel with Streamers
Materials needed: White creative paper twist for head- 18 inches (2) for arms- 11-12 inches (2)     for body and skirt-  12 pieces 20 inches long 4 pieces 40 inches long Gold Metallic Paper Ribbon for wings and halo- 17 inches (do not untwist for halo) 3-inch Styrofoam ball 2 yds gold ribbon Wire Tacky glue Moss (or curly hair) and a little bit of Dacron or cotton Instructions: It's easier to cut the desired lengths and then untwist. FOR HEAD: Glue the edges together for the piece covering the head (you want a wide piece that will cover the 3" Styrofoam ball completely). Glue with tacky glue and cover the ball, smoothing the part that will be the "face" of the angel. Tie at neck with a piece of wire. FOR ARMS: Glue the pieces for the arms (side by side) and then again to form a tube. Stuff the tube with Dacron or cotton, twisting each end to form the "hands". Tie at wrist with gold ribbon. Now with a piece of wire, tie the arms onto the "body" just below the head--at this point, the body is the piece of paper ribbon hanging down from the head. Glue and tie the 12 pieces of paper ribbon around the waist of the angel. Then, measure about half-way of the 40-inche pieces and attach to doll with the "fold" of the 40-inch piece going over the shoulders. Criss-cross these four pieces and then tie at waist with wire. Cover the wire with some gold ribbon and tie a piece of gold ribbon around the neck. Let the streamers of this ribbon hang down for the bow. Make a "nest" of the moss (or use curly hair) and glue onto the angel for the hair. Make a "bow" of the gold paper ribbon to form the wings and glue onto the angel. Make a halo of gold paper ribbon without untwisting it. (If you slip a shot piece of wire in one end of the "halo" and then bring it around, making a circle and push the piece of wire into the other end of the paper ribbon, adding a bit of tacky glue, it will hold together in a circle). Then curl the streamers, roll a pencil and clip with a clothespin. Leave for a couple of hours or less and when you take the clothes pin off, you will have curls! If the curls are too tight, just let them set overnight and they will loosen. Optional: You can fold the angels arms at the "elbow" and let her hold something in her hands--a gift, a harp, a basket, etc. HINT: To help keep your angel upright place her over a 2 liter bottle of soda. You can make a pilgrim, witch, or Christmas carolers by just using the appropriate colors and omitting the halo and wings.

Angel Cookies

Lemon Sugar Cookies: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tbsp grated lemon rind 1 tbsp lemon juice 1. Hershey's Kiss Angel
SUPPLIES: 1 Hershey kiss
1/2 inch pompom
1 glitter stem (chenille stem)
1 gold or silver "wedding ring" gold or silver cord
Tacky glue
glue gun
DIRECTIONS: Take 1 Hershey's kiss, glue a 1/2 inch pompom to the pointed end for the head. Make a heart shape out of approximately 1/3 glitter stem and hot glue to the back for her wings. The halo is a little gold or silver wedding ring favor
decoration glued to the top of her head and a loop of gold or silver cord attached to hang the angel. Hint/Tip...If you use Tacky glue as well as your glue gun, the glue gun will allow items to stick quickly, the designer glue will hold it in place forever.

Carole's Angel
Well, let me see if I can describe what I am doing.  I took a piece of 1" x  4" x 24", another piece of 1" x 4" x 5 1/2", this one had the edges rounded.  I also cut an oval face out of 1" x 4" x 5".  I painted the 24 inch piece a cream color, than dry brushed on a country blue.  The base piece was painted country blue.  The face piece was painted a medium flesh.  I screwed the base on, glued the face on, then took twigs to make the wings, which I glued onto the back.  I used moss for the hair and then used a medium, I think it was 7" straw hat, gluing on moss and sunflowers.  I used muslin, cut  12" x 10" folded in half & sewn, then each end gathered.  This would be glued on the back before the wings, with the front part brought around and glued.  I glued moss and flowers over the place where they met, making it look like hands are holding them.  I glued moss around the base, then used ivy & sunflowers on it.  I had three small birdhouses, which I put on sticks and they are going up the front of the angel.  Her face is made up of eyes, a nose that looks like an inverted u and since her face is so long,  the mouth is made up of a straight line down her face, just from under the nose, with a dot at the end of the line.  Then use blush to accent her cheeks.  I wish I could scan it for you, but trust me this thing is gorgeous!

Here's a small and cute Angel ornament. Also easy to make!
You need: Hot glue gun Silk flower Small wooden bead Small pearl string Piece of ribbon (gauzy kind with gold or silver edging is pretty) Doll's ringlet hair, small curl Decorative cord for hanging Black and red markers (optional) Method: Remove stalk from flower, and hot glue back of flower to keep petals from falling off.

I just made an ornament angel which turned out pretty  cute if I say so myself! I used a plain gold glass ornament (the cheapies of red, blue, green and gold - I picked them up real cheap in the Christmas sales!) and used it as the head of the angel.  I gathered one side of a wide piece of cream lace and hot glued to the base of the ornament.  I then used Spanish moss for hair packing it around the ornament holder at the top so the angel still can be hung on the tree.  For the wings I used a starch stiffened piece of lace folded wing shaped.  I used a pearl strand hot glued in a circle for the halo.  I painted on black closed eyes with lashes and a red rosebud mouth.  It was for a swap I'm participating in and the hostess loved the angel!  I'm not sure if the other colored ornaments will work, but with color-coordinated lace, I don't  see why not!

INSTRUCTIONS    1.To make the boy angel, fill the bottom third of each natural mitten with rice. Fill the remainder of each mitten and thumb with fiberfill. Overlap the mittens side by side for the body and sew two buttons down the center using the embroidery floss. Knot the floss on top of the buttons and trim. To form the collar, hand gather the cuffs of the mittens 1/2 inch from the open end and tie with floss to hold.   2.Paint the face on the wooden apple.
3.To finish, fringe the sides and ends of the dish towel fabric strip, and tie it around the neck for a scarf. For the hat, turn up a 1/4 inch cuff on the edge of the cranberry stocking, then glue the stocking hat to the head. Glue two crochet snowflakes to the upper back for wings.
4.To make the girl angel, follow Steps 1 and 2 to shape a cranberry mitten body and add the head. Loop and glue the doll hair on top of the head.
5.Cut a 1 1/2 x 12 inch dish towel fabric strip. Pull threads to fringe the sides and ends, and tie it around the neck for a scarf.

Thread the floss ends through a button, knot the floss on top and trim.
7.Glue two crochet snowflakes to the upper back for wings.

Clay Pot Angel
Take a small clay pot  turn upside down, crochet a small doily, this is used as a collar, take a small wooden droll and glue to center where the hole is, draw a face, use dolls hair, small amount, use small piece of wire or chenelle for halo.  for the wings cut piece of cardboard in the shape of wings cover with cloth or felt and glue  to  the back  this would finish your clay pot angel happy crafting and have a good day Thanks Michie!   Instead of fabric covered cardboard for the angel wings, the wide wired ribbon makes great wings.  Also any wide lace but you may need to stiffen with starch, or hot glue strategically to keep shape. Thanks Shirley B.!   I have also used two wooden hearts set side by side.  I paint them and then add sparkles or use glitter glue to outline them. Thanks Terry!   How about some of that fabric stiffener in a spray bottle.  Get cheap lace and cut to shape of wings and spray. I use the stiffener in a spray bottle (watered down 30%) to stiffen the fabric for the leaves for my candy roses.

Angel Ornament
You'll need: plain colored glass round ornament (angel's head) Excelsior or Spanish moss (for hair), roughly cut into about 1" lengths 6" piece of 2" wide lace (for dress), color coordinated to the glass ornament (e.g. if   blue, I use either blue lace or white with blue in it.) 14" piece of 2 1/2" wide white lace (for wings) 2 1/2" length pearl strand (for halo) Red and black paint markers (optional, for eyes and lips) Method: Glue together sides of lace for dress, glue around the top of the lace and  stick to the base of the ornament ball.  Put hot glue on the sides and back  of ornament, and on top front below the hanger.  Roll in the excelsior and press firmly into the glue.  Brush off excess and trim bangs, sides of face,  and around neck.  You may need to add a little more glue and repack with  excelsior to cover well.  For the wings, cut the 14" lace in half.  On each  half, fold and glue the top edge together, then glue bottom edge, leaving  side edge unglued.  Then with open edges to the outside, hold the two halves  together at an angle and overlapped on each other at the base by about 1".  You should have the wings shape.  Glue the small overlap.  Then glue the  wings to the back of angel.  Glue pearl string together for halo and glue to  hair around the hanger.  Paint eyes and lips, and there she is!  Red  ornaments with white and red lace look great, so do the green with white and  green lace.  The gold ornaments look good with gold lace or white.

Angel Ornaments or Pins
What you need:
Bow Tie Pasta
Pearls
Pearl colored white paint
Glitter
Glue Gun
What you do:
Split the bow tie pasta in half. Use one of the halves as the wings,
use another whole piece of pasta for the body. The pearl would be the head of the angel.
Hot glue the pearl to the top of the pasta "body" part.
Paint the entire angel with white paint and sprinkle with glitter.
This can be used as an ornament or hot glue a pin backing to the back of the angel for a decorative pin.

CD Angel
Materials Needed:
1 Old CD
1 Heart shaped doily (I used a gold heart w/ decorative cut work)
1 Coffee filter (8-12 cup size, white, round Mr. Coffee type)
1 Flat wooden clothespin (NOT the spring type)
1 Decorative silk rosette
Hot Glue Gun & glue sticks OR Very Tacky Glue
Scissors
Instructions:
First glue the heart shaped doily onto the shiny side of the CD 1/4 of
the way down from the top edge of the CD.  This will be your angel's wings.
Next, to create her dress, flatten the coffee filter, then fold it in 1/2, and then fold it in 1/2 again (so it is 1/4 of it's original size).  Next, with the scissors, snip off 1/4" of the tip (for the neck/collar).  Unfold the filter to 1/2 its sized, and slide the flat wooden clothespin under the "dress", and insert the "head" through the collar.
Place daps of glue on her chest and back.  Then adhere the dress in place to prevent sliding around.
With the angel lying face-up ,  take 1 of her "wrists" (the 2 ends of the folded edge of the filter),  and fold at her "elbow".  Glue 1 wrist in place over her chest.  Next, glue the rosette in her "hand".
Then repeat with the other "arm".
Turn the angel over, and apply glue across her shoulders and 1/2 way down her body.
Then, secure her to the CD/Heart, so that her head is over the center of the CD, and her "legs" hang below the lower edge of the CD by about 1".  When the glue is fully dry, attach your angel to your Xmas tree by sliding her legs over a sturdy branch, much like a clothesline.
another version:
Cut a big V notch at the top of the CD (just use a heavy-duty pair of scissors and cut slowly & straight).  The CD will be the wings.
Make a ball of stuffing to form the head and then drape a doily over it and secure with a small rubber
band around the neck.  Cover the rubber band by tying a ribbon around it and decorate with a rosette or small pearl.
Make a halo from a silver pipe cleaner and insert  into the neck ribbon at the back of the head.
Loop another ribbon at the back of the head for hanging.  Flair out the doily dress and shape.
Glue the body/dress to the CD at the bottom of the big V so that the head is in the middle of the V.
Looks sort of like this (\o/) Hopefully, it will look like the top of the wings. You can leave the head
plain or draw a simple face of eyes  & mouth and/or hair of spanish moss.

Poem for a Kitchen Angel
Here's a little angel to season your kitchen with love.....
She will help cook dinner and watch over you from above.....
Every meal she will bless.....
and after dinner she will give you strength to clean up the mess.

Great poem if you make your own Cards, Plaques, Soap
~ Angels In My Heart ~
When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low
When there is no one here to talk to
And no where I really want to go
I search deep within myself
It is the love inside my heart
That lets me know my Angels are there
Even though we are many miles apart
A smile then appears upon my face
And the sun begins to shine
I hear a voice, so soft and sweet
Saying, 'Everything will be just fine'
It may seem that I am alone
But I am never by myself at all
Whenever I need my Angels near
All I have to do is call
An Angel's love is always true
On that you can always depend
They will always stand behind you
And will always be your friend

Pasta Angel
Stuff needed:  Bow-tie Pasta, Pearlized White Paint, hot glue, pin backs, sm. pom poms (I use the iridized ones), and the round necklace finding (for the halo).

Take two pastas and cut one in half (you're going to have some breakage).  The 1/2 piece is the skirt and the full piece is the wings and body.  Paint both pieces a pearly white.  After their dry, glue the pieces together.  Glue the pom pom on top of the wings and the halo on top of the pom pom.  At the spot where the two pastas are glued you can add something for her to hold.

When I worked at a hospital (Physical Therapy floor) we made these for our patients one Christmas using the small silk roses.  They were so popular we had requests from all over the hospital.  Even the doctors wanted them and when I wore mine home all my neighbors wanted some.  I now make angels for practically every occassion.  Valentines Day:  heart, St. Pattys: shamrock, etc.  When my daughters one-act play advanced to regionals the whole cast, crew, and parents had angels holding the comedy/drama masks.  Give it a try.  They're real easy and lots of fun.

ICICLE ANGEL
Supplies
1 gold (or color of your choice) plastic icicle
1 pair gold leafs with wire stems
1 wooden head (I used the bead from a wooden car seat cover)
hair
gold pipe cleaner
paint
Instructions
1) Paint head and face of your choice (I just did two black dots with a touch of white in them for eyes and dabbed some pink on for cheeks.
2) Push hanger that is on the icicle through the hole in the head.  If head does not have a hole you may want to add your thread to the top of the head now.
3) Add hair
4) Use gold pipe cleaner for the halo
5) Criss cross stems of leafs once around the neck of the angel and glue the
leafs at the back.  The leafs are the wings.  Leave the stems outreached, these are the arms.  Fold wire in half towards the neck and twist the arms.
6)You can hang it on the tree like that or you can attach a card with this poem written on it.

Here is an Angel sparkling bright,
giving off iridescent light.
She is a reminder that God in His love,
Sent down His son from Heaven above.
Should you find her nestled in your tree,
Remember the Savior who died for you and me.

Raffia Angel
It's based on the cornhusk doll.
Make a tassel using raffia. Separate about 5 or six strands for the arms on each side. Bind with a thin length of raffia at the wrist, elbow, and shoulder to shape it. Wind the raffia round the body to define it. Tie a raffia bow to the back for wings. Shred the 'skirt' like you would do for a pom-pom (the cheerleading kind).
More elaborate instructions.
First, you cut the raffia into lengths of about two hands (from the wrist to the fingertips). Use another piece of raffia to tie about 15 to 20 pieces into a bundle. The piece used to tie the bundle can also form a loop from which to hang it. Tie all of the pieces together about an inch from the loop to form the head, using a thin piece of raffia. Using this same piece of raffia, shape the arms and body, and tie the bow to the back (see above).

An Angel poem - would work well into a hand-crafted item or onto a handmade card.
Perhaps this came off of a business-sized enclosure card.

  ~ Tiny Angel ~

I am a tiny Angel ...
I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people pockets,
That's where I have my fun.

Before I was an Angel ...
I was the beauty in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.

And, because God is so busy
With all He has to do,
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you.

When He tucked me in your pocket,
He blessed you with Angel care;
Then, He told me to never leave you
And I vowed always to be here.

Angel Dust
Put large iridescent glitter in a small zip lock bag with the poem below and use a small angel rubber
stamp for an accent with the poem.

Within this little bag
Placed with loving care,
Is special angel dust
My Guardian placed there.
It is to share with special friends
When they're down or feeling blue,
To lift their heart and share a smile
As special friends should do.

An easy-to-make, "something fun" for students
this coming school year. Print onto a small card
and attach a tiny Angel lapel pin ...

Homework Angel

She's a precious "Homework Angel",
sent from Heaven just for YOU,
To lovingly stay right by your side
and help all school year through.

While you do your studies,
or are preparing for a test,
She'll help you to "remember"
so you'll do your very best!

Angels have a "knack" for facts,
so put yourself at ease!
With her guidance and encouragement,
your school year will "be a breeze"!

ANGEL HANDCREAM
Buy a bottle of handcream and then put extrafine glitter in it. You can use
empty film containers or prescription bottles that you wrap in wallpaper for
the containers. Then decorate the tops with baby's breath and small roses, or
whatever you like.
Little girls love this gift from the "dream fairy"
Here is the poem
Night is here, and it's time to go to bed.
But before you lay down your sleepy head
On the back of your hand rub some Angel Cream
So angels will watch over you as you dream.

Thimble Angel....creator unknown
1 - thimble (flat on top)
1/2" wood bead
1" wood heart
2" soldering wire (I raided my husbands garage)
sm. amount of spanish moss
1/2" wood dowel
flesh colored paint
small amount of silver and black paint
hot glue
Paint bead flesh color, let dry. Paint heart silver and stipple
small amount of black (so the wings to match the color of
the thimble), let dry. Glue bead to top of thimble, add spanish
moss for hair. Wrap the soldering wire around the dowel to make
a circle. Remove from dowel being careful not to mess up the
circle, glue to the top of the head for a halo. Glue heart to back
of thimble for wings. Paint faces, but looks cute plain. Good Luck.
Note from Dea: I'm going to try this but I think instead of using soldering wire, I'll just use a little piece of regular wire and glue in on for the halo,
or a little decorative ring like you use for wedding favors

Cute to add to a Kitchen Angel:
I'm your little cooking angel
I'll make your food taste fine
Just place me in the kitchen
And your meals will be "devine"!

Cinnamon Stick Angels
3 - 3" cinnamon sticks
7/8" or 1" wooden ball
2 bay leaves
Spanish moss
18 gauge wire
16" long scrap material
Scrap material - 2 ¼" x 10" (torn for rustic look)
Scrap material - ¼" x 12" (also torn for rustic look)
1. Hot glue 2 cinnamon sticks together to form an upside down ‘V'. These are the legs.
2. Run a basting stitch along one edge of the larger piece of material. Pull the thread together.
This is the dress.
3.Pull dress over legs and glue close to the top.
4.Glue the other cinnamon stick across the top of the legs. This becomes the arms.
5.Glue the head to the center of the arms.
6.Add Spanish moss for hair.
7.Add dip dot eyes and blush.
8.Tie the other piece of fabric into a bow and glue on to the arms just below the head.
9.Wrap the wire around a pencil. Remove and glue each end into the end of the arm piece.
10.Add the 2 basil leaves to the back. These are the wings.

I loved the dish towel angels so much, but I wanted to expand on it a little.
There are so many pretty bath sets coming out now for the holidays....With Bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth all appliqued with holiday motif.  So I made a bath angel that I think will be a great gift for teachers, exchanges, etc.
I used a three piece bath set, (I didn't like the applique for the arms and wings,
so I am using those for smaller angels and used plain coordinating colored hand towel and wash cloth)
a nylon net bath puff, a star shaped soap and a couple of yards of ribbon.
Fold the bath towel in half, with the applique showing on top. Place the bath puff in the inside center of the fold and tie with a length of ribbon. Roll the hand towel into a long tube for arms, and place it in the fold under the puff "head". Tie a "belt" with a length of ribbon. Pinch opposite corners of the washcloth together to make wings...tie with a length of ribbon, place in center of back and bring the ribbon over the shoulders, criss crossing in the front, and around the waist. tie in place.
Use two ribbons to criss cross the front of the star soap, tie securely, leaving a long enough length of ribbon to go around the head. Tie securely to the top of the head. This is your halo.
I thought of some variations, but I just used what I had on hand....
Instead of a bath puff head, you could use bath salts (in a plastic bag which is then tied in a muslin bundle, so it doesn't get a hole in it)
Instead of the wash cloth for wings, loofah or terry bath mittens would be cute.
If you use plain towels, it could be dressed up with ribbon roses or silk flowers.
.hot glue directly onto the ribbon, being careful not to get glue on towels. (place a piece of plastic  under the ribbon while you glue)
I'm going to include a box of Calgon and this poem:
This little angel is just the thing
When you need a special pampering,
Just snip the ribbons and take her apart
For bathtime essentials...straight from the heart.
Soak your troubles and cares away,
Your bath time angel can "take you away!"
