Numbered Apples
Make a felt apple tree and ten felt apples and place the tree on a flannel board.  Number the apples from 1 to 10. Let each child in turn choose an apple, identify the number on it and place the apple on the tree. When all the apples are on the tree, count them as a group.

Apple Tree Game
Use red caps for apples in an apple tree. Use a permanent marker to put a number on each milk cap and one on each apple in the tree. Younger children will just match by shape(one-to-one  correspondence).

Graph favorite color apples

Have the children estimate how many bites it will take to get to the core of an apple. They can count as they eat!

Apple Fractions
Have the children draw a picture of a tree, Then tell them to draw 4 apples in their pictures, but put 1/4 of the  apples on the ground and 3/4 on the tree. Tell them to put three branches on the tree, but put 1/3 on the left side and 2/3 on the right side of the tree, etc. Leaves can also be used.

Apple Graph
Make a chart by putting a picture of three different colored apples at the top. Have each child's name written down the left hand margin. Pass out a slice of each type of apple and then have each child tell you which was his favorite (red, yellow or green) Tally up the results and make a total at the bottom of each column. You can purchase the colored sticker labels from the stationery store for the children to use to put on the chart. If they like a red apple, they place their red circle sticker under the red, yellow circle sticker under the yellow apple, etc. They enjoy doing this because they get to use stickers!

Apple Counting Game
Glue a felt tree shape to each of five cardboard squares. Write a number from 1 to 5 under each tree. Cut fifteen apple  shapes out of felt, To play the game, have the children take turns identifying  the numbers below the trees and placing the corresponding number of apples on them.

Apple Sizes
Cut out different sizes of apples... from colored construction paper or color them on white ones.. arrange them from small to large made them a flannel board exercise also if you have small  children..only do 3 for toddlers and preschoolers do 6.

Apple estimation vs. marble estimation: try to estimate how many seeds are in
an apple and how many marbles are in a clear jar.Which is easier to estimate?/ why?

 Apple Circumference
Measure the circumference of different sized  apples..line up the apples
from biggest to smallest

Each child bring an apple. Count, sort, and graph them on a big floor  graph. Weigh some of them using a balance scale and teddy bear counters.
