How to make a Dammit Doll
What you need:
Scraps of Material
Stuffing--polyester or cotton
Old buttons for eyes and belly button
Yarn for hair
Paper to make a pattern
Make a pattern by folding the paper in half and cutting out a shape of somewhat like a ginger bread man. I copied the shape from a small cookie cutter that I had. It was easier to draw the shape first and then cut it out. I found a nice fat shape looks better than a thin one. After you have your pattern, use it to cut out two identical shapes. If you like, use pinking shears to make a ragged edge. On one side, sew on buttons for eyes and belly button. Using some yarn, attach the hair at the top. I added a mouth to mine by using a cross-stitch pattern that my sewing machine does. Now, put wrong sides together and stitch around the edge, leaving an opening to add the stuffing. Add stuffing,(don't over stuff it)and
finish sewing up the opening. Write the following poem on a piece of paper and attach it around his neck:

Whenever things don't go so well...
And you want to hit the wall and yell...
Here's a little dammit doll
That you can't do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it
And as you whack the stuffing out
Yell, "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!"

Tips for dollhouses  http://www.artsandcrafts.co.uk/main/dollstips.htm

Getting ink off your doll:
The easiest way to remove ink from any plastic or leather is to use a soft cloth with undiluted eucalyptus oil on it. It has always worked wonderfully for me on any plastic, leather or vinyl item. I also use eucalyptus oil for many cleaning jobs around the home; you can pour a couple of capfuls into a bucket of hot water and it shines and cleans your floor tiles, ceramic or laminate bench tops, in fact you can use it everywhere. It leaves a lovely shine and a refreshing smell throughout your home. Hope you can obtain it easily. Regards ~ Laurel, Western Australia.

Free Annie Pin Pattern!
Please print.
Supplies:
*Scraps of unbleached muslin, plaid fabric and cotton batting
*Natural quilting thread
*Pigma Pen .03 - black
*red embroidery floss or cotton crochet thread (hair)
*small button
*Barn Red acrylic paint
*Powder blush
*Hot glue
*Pin back or safety pin
*Q-Tip
Please read all instructions before beginning. To make tea- steep 6 small tea bags per cup of boiling water for about 15 minutes. Let cool.
Cut out collar and head pattern pieces. Sandwich cotton batting between 2 layers of plaid fabric. Make sure that right sides are on the outside. Pin collar pattern down and cut out through all layers. Using quilting thread, hand stitch around the outer edge (make sure you go through all layers, like a little quilt!)
Now, sandwich batting between 2 small pieces of muslin. Cut out and stitch the same as the collar.
Soak collar and head in tea until desired darkness. Pat most of tea out with a paper towel and let dry completely.
Draw her face on with black Pigma Pen. Let dry. (you may want to practice on a scrap of muslin first!) Fill in nose and lips with red paint. A sharp pencil or tip of a pin work great for this. If you have a one, a stylus is the best tool. Let paint dry completely. Blush cheeks with powder blush and Q-Tip. Lightly spray with spray net to fix blush.
Use red floss for hair. Pull floss through head at each marking on pattern. Knot and clip to about 1/2" long.
Hand tack or hot glue head to collar (see pattern drawing for placement).
Hand stitch button to collar. Stitch pin back to the back of the head.
You are done!! Feel free to add any personal touches.

"Old Age Voodoo Doll"
I will try and explain this to you and all the other wonderful crafts on this list.  This has been a wonderful product for me!!  It is called an "old age voodoo doll".  I make the dolls (basic one piece doll pattern) out of muslin ... write all over them with old age symptoms (gray hear, memory loss, double chin, gas, corns, heart burn, etc., etc., etc.).  I do this on both the front and the back of the dolls.  I sew around the edge and use my pinking shears to go around the edge.  I sell with them the pretty floral pins ... LOL!
Thanks Tammy!

Renuzit Dolls
I would be happy to share what I do,  but I usually do it the inexpensive way because I have to make so many.  I make a stuffed head and hot glue it on top of the freshner,  then I take a piece of fabric and gather it to make a dress, make two matching fabric sleeves and lightly stuff them, gather at the
bottom of sleeve and insert a fabric hand into each.  Sew the dress up the back,  where you have gathered it at the top,  hot glue it onto the doll head at the top of the freshner.  Then add lace, trimming or ?? to liven it up. Draw a face on the doll and add some curly hair.  You can even put a basket
or something into the hand. You can buy heads and hands etc. if you dont have to make too many, but I have found the hand made ones work fine for me. Hope you can follow these instructions,  I just kinda put them together.
Thanks Pattilou!

Dammit Doll
You either make a cloth doll or attach to a cloth doll you have bought. and attach this card:
When you want to climb the wall
and stand right up and shout.
Theres a little Dammit doll you
cannot do without.
Just Grasp it firmly by the legs
find a place to slam it.
And as you wack the stuffing out
Yell Dammit Dammit Dammit!!
If Dammit's not a word you say
then twist its little neck
and grumble out repeatedly
OH Heck , OH Heck, Oh Heck!!
And once you're done abusing it
Just sit it on the shelf
But hug it first.
As I'd hug you If I were
there myself.
Thanks Debbi!

Have you ever seen dolls made from clothes pins?  You take a clothespin  with a "ball" top.  Draw or paint her a face on the ball, add hair(you can  use doll hair, clay, homemade house hold twine hair, whatever:o).  Use fabric  scraps to make her a dress..simply wrap them around and use another piece to
make a belt, etc(if you make dolls...you can do this:o). You can add two   small strips of fabric (arms/ or sleves rather:o) and have her holding  somthing(so you wont have to worry about hands:o)like a heart or a  flower..... Glue on a pin to the back..Ta-Da!

Making a face in pantyhose
Well I didn't find that set of instructions ( lost a lot of stuff when my computer crashed) but maybe some of these will help.  Just remember that the eyes are in the center of the head and don't put them too high.  Practice on small heads until you get the feel of it.  finger press the stuffing into place don't try to pull it with the thread.  When you get a face made use your eye makeup to accent and a little blush on the cheeks and tip of the nose.  Some hair helps too.  Fur makes hair for males or short hair for
women.  also don't forget to make eyebrows and lashes for the doll.  the brows can be made by cutting the shape for one out of paper and put glue on that area then with finely cut (whatever you use for hair) sift it onto the glue area.  I will try to find my directions for this later, for I don't off hand know where I have it put up at.   Oh yes while you are practicing if you make a mistake just cut the threads and start over again.

How to make a Hedgehog Doll
First you need teasels.  I use two teasels per doll.  I for the head and 1 cut in half for
hands.  Cut off spurs and long stem.  I washed mine as they were so dark and dirty.  I put a
little bleach in the water and made them lighter in color.  Don't leave too long or teasel will go
to mush.  Get a Styrofoam form.  Mine was about 2 inches wide and about six or seven inches high.
Glue styrofoam to lid of jar for stability as the doll will stand on its own.  Lid should be about 3
or 4 in. in diameter.  Cut large circle of material for the skirt and wrap on Styrofoam.  Put
into cotton batting to make skirt puffy.   You can baste stitches on top of skirt and pull close
around styrofoam and/or pin skirt to the form. Glue teasel to top of form.   Cut an apron - a
triangular form and pin around top of form.  I glue teasel cut in half for each paw underneath
apron.  Cut a small circle and baste and pull up. Stuff with cotton and this is the hat that will
sit on the top of the teasel.  You can put a bit of lace around hat to cover up sewing.  I
experimenting the size I wanted and made a template from cardboard for the skirt, apron &
hat.  I used little soaps from hotel and covered with same material as dress.  I stacked three
different sizes and tied a bow around them to make her look like she has giftsHope this is clear.

HANDKERCHIEF DOLLS
Start with a standard, white, men's handkerchief - unfolded. Fold in half and sew the two sides together, close to the hem, from the bottom edge about two-thirds of the way up the handkerchief. Turn right side out. Knot each of the two top corners close to the corner. This makes it look like a
"puffed sleeve with the corner sticking out for the arm." Place a wad of stuffing in the center between the two knots. Gather the material up around it and wind thread around it tightly several times and knot to form a head. Sew lace around the bottom of the "gown" and across the top of the
head to look like a bonnet. Embroider a face on the doll and it's finished.

A similar doll can be made of a pillowcase. With a pillowcase, the sides are already sewn. Just knot the upper corners for arms, and follow head instructions of the handkerchief doll above. These are especially pretty if you use a pillowcase with a lace or embroidered trim on the bottom. You can add yarn hair to the pillowcase doll if you wish, instead of the lace "bonnet." I did three of these out of my girlfriend's dad's handerchiefs who had just recently passed away. I added sheer lace ribbons for angel wings, sewed them one under another on a wide piece of  ribbon and attached them to a small piece of wood so they could hang on the wall ,  i had painted the wood blue and added a few small stars with the words "I believe in Angels",I gave it to my mother for Christmas she loved it! Now her Mom wants me to do one for her, Just an idea   I thought I'd pass on.

DOLL SAYINGS
Discover  your inner child...
play with dolls

Doll collector at heart

Doll crossing

Dolls are like potato chips...
you can't just have one

Dolly's blue without you

I can hardly wait 'til night time falls
when I can crawl into bed
with my favorite dolls

Never too old to play with dolls

One can never have too many dolls

Some of my best friends are dolls

The nicest dreams that will never be
are the dreams shared by dolly and me

Thanks Toni
